There are many bike trainer stands that you can convert over to a bike generator stand.  The key is in knowing how to come up with a solid way to mount the generator to the stand.   This solution is known as a mounting bracket or a mounting plate.

One example of a good stand to use is the stand offered by MNS power shown below.  You click on the images to see a large photo.

When building a belt drive style pedal power generator,  you will find that the alignment of the rear wheel to the generator pulley is important to get right.  For reasons related to noise, efficiency, and minimizing wear and tare on your belt.     This stand is especially suited for alignment because unlike most stands which only tighten from one side of the stand, this trainer stand from MNS tightens from both sides, so  you can easily align  the bike with generator.
